The season opener for Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers ended in a 34-29 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday night in São Paulo, Brazil.
But it might be much worse after Love was hurt on the final series in the closing seconds. He needed assistance in leaving the field. His status was unknown afterward.
The Packers offense had a few big plays and Jayden Reed was spectacular but it settled for field goals too many times in the red zone and couldn't turn defensive takeaways into touchdowns.
But Jeff Hafley's defense also had its issues. The unit had no answer for running back Saquon Barkley (three touchdowns in his Eagles debut) and it couldn't get off the field in the fourth quarter when it needed a stop.
It added up to a frustrating defeat to begin the season. Reporter Tom Silverstein hosted his in-game chat where he provided analysis and took your questions.
Meanwhile, review all the top plays, highlights and moments from the Packers-Eagles Week 1 game.

Jordan Love, Jalen Hurts stats
Jordan Love threw for 280 yards and two touchdowns and Jalen Hurts threw for 278 yards and a pair of scores. Hurts was intercepted twice, Love threw one. The Packers did a good job keeping Hurts in front of them as he only rushed for 33 yards on 13 carries.
Packers, Eagles offensive stats
Philadelphia's Saquon Barkley had 132 total yards and three touchdowns and Josh Jacobs averaged over 8 yards a carry in the second half and finished with 124 total yards.
Jayden Reed had four catches for 138 yards and a touchdown and a 33-yard rushing score for the Packers. A.J. Brown had five catches, 119 yards and a TD for the Eagles.
How many penalties did the Packers have vs the Eagles?
Opening games are rarely a work of art, but the Packers certainly didn't help themselves with 10 penalties for 71 yards. The Eagles had seven flags for 57 yards.
Jordan Love injured in final seconds as Packers lose 34-29 to Eagles
Love completes a 33-yard pass to Reed but is injured on the next play after being hit when he dumps the ball off to Josh Jacobs for a few yards. Love stays on the ground before limping off the field. Backup quarterback Malik Willis replaces Love, but throws an incompletion and is sacked. The Packers lose, 34-29, but the main concern is Love's late injury.

Eagles in control after field goal with 27 seconds left
On 2nd and 12, Alexander is flagged for defensive holding giving the Eagles a first down at the 33. Barkley then carries for nine and two yards to move the chains for Philadelphia.
After a timeout, Hurts calls his own number for 8 yards but a formation flag wipes out a short completion on the next play.
On 2nd and 7, the Eagles are called for an illegal man downfield, but the Packers decline forcing a 3rd and 7. Hurts is stopped short, but Clark is called for a hold giving the Eagles a huge first down at the Green Bay 42.
Hurts then scrambles left for another first down at Green Bay's 32. After stopping Barkley for a loss, Devonta Smith comes up with some clutch yards after the catch to get another first down at the 19. Green Bay takes its second timeout with 2:10 remaining.
On 2nd and 8, anticipating run, Hurts and Smith connect again, fooling the Packers defense on an 11-yard reception and a first down at the 6-yard line.
The Eagles can run the clock to 27 seconds before Elliott kicks a field goal to make it 34-29
After Josh Jacobs' big run, Brayden Narveson cuts lead to 31-29
Barkley isn't the only running back that can break off a big play. Jacobs accelerates through the hole for 32 yards to get the Packers to the 45.
Three plays later on 3rd and 5 from the 50, Reed is suddenly all alone again for a 26-yard grab. Reed has 105 yards receiving and 33 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
Wilson picks up another first down despite a big hit from Baun at the 13. However, after a few more yards by Jacobs on first down, Love misfires on two end zone throws.
Narveson kicks another shirt field goal, his third of the night and the Packers trail, 31-29. Jacobs is averaging over eight yards a carry in the second half.
Jaire Alexander comes up with interception in end zone
The last play of the third quarter is not a good one, as Barkley finds a seam and gallops 34-yards, taking the ball to the Green Bay 33. On 2nd and 10 Hurts finds Grant Calcaterra and Brown for consecutive 11-yard receptions.
Nixon and Preston Smith dump Hurts for 3-yard loss and then Nixon nearly intercepts Hurts on second down. On 3rd and 13 from 14, Smith tosses a floater across is body into the end zone that is easily picked off by Alexander.
The veteran corner returns the ball to the 14 and the Packers are 86 yards from the go-ahead score with 12:53 to play.

Brayden Narveson misses 43-yard field goal
After the turnover, a play-call mix of three passes and three runs that ends with a 22-yard run by Jacobs gets the Packers to the Eagles' 25.
However, after two plays for no gain, Love and Reed don't can't connect on a short sideline route, forcing a Narveson field goal try. The rookie kicker misses from 43 yards and is now 2-for-3 tonight.
Jordan Love's turnover is a costly one as Saquon Barkley scores third TD
After Smith's 8-yard reception, Barkley gets three straight carries that net 16 yards and a touchdown. Barkley only has 60 yards on the ground but he has three of the Eagles' four touchdowns.

Jordan Love's interception puts Eagles in scoring position
Starting from their own 13, Jacobs rushes for 9 yards, but a holding call on 2nd and 1 puts the Packers where they started and then on the next play, a poor throw by Love is picked off by Reed Blankenship.

Packers defense rushing Jalen Hurts over last two series
The Packers have looked much better on defense the last two series. In addition to pressuring Hurts, they have held the dual threat quarterback to 14 rushing yards on eight carries.
Isaiah McDuffie blew up a third and 2 play by getting to Hurts in the backfield and the Packers offense gets the ball back again after just three plays with 7:21 left in the third quarter.
Eagles' defense holds
After a 12-yard completion an illegal shift pushes the Packers back five yards and then Love misses three straight throws, including a short pass to Wilson on 3rd and 15 where Wilson was leveled by Nakobe Dean.
After off-setting penalties on the punt, the ball is kicked again and the Eagles start at their own 32.
Rashan Gary helps defense get a stop
Havoc from Rashan Gary finally causes a punt by the Eagles. His sack of Hurts for a 6-yard loss gives the ball back to the Packers with 10:26 to play in the quarter.
Love finds Christian Watson after key flag, Packers lead, 26-24
The Packers get some help on third down when Zack Baun is called for roughing the passer. Love then finds Tucker Kraft in space for 29 yards and a first down at the 16.
On third and 9, Wicks is clearly held near the goal line and the Packers get the ball at the 2-yard line. Love then finds Watson in the end zone after a nice play-action fake.
The Packers need just over two minutes to retake the lead in this back-and-forth tussle, 26-24.

A.J. Brown quickly scores in a blur, Eagles lead 24-19
After turning the ball over on their first two drives, the Eagles scored on their last three and get the ball to begin the second half.
On the second play out of the half, A.J. Brown beats Jaire Alexander fairly easily for a 67-yard touchdown.
Philadelphia's offense scores in 51 seconds and leads 24-19.

Jake Elliott's field goal cuts Packers' lead to 19-17 at halftime
The Packers force a third and long from the Eagles 39, but Dallas Goedert easily beats Alexander for 21 yards and a first down. The Packers allow only 7 yards in the next three plays, with Clark and Gary stopping Hurts on a quarterback keeper.
The Eagles try to draw the Packers offsides, call a timeout and then go for it instead of kicking a 50-yard field goal. Smith goes to the ground to secure a 7-yard fastball from Hurts to keep the drive going.
Barkley gets a breather and Kenneth Gainwell gains 12 yards on a run and a short pass to get the ball in the red zone. On first down from the 14 with 43 seconds left, Keisean Nixon comes up with a sack of Hurst in open space.
The negative play of 6 yards moves the Eagles back to the 20 and forces the Eagles to call their last timeout.
On second and 21, Goedert can't get out of bounds after a short completion and Jake Elliott kicks a 38-yard field goal at the end of the quarter. The Packers lead 19-17 at halftime.
Jayden Reed scores second touchdown on a 70-yard strike
Jordan Love is fortunate that his first two passes from the 30 were not picked off, but on third down, a likely blown coverage, leaves Reed all alone and he goes 70 yards for the quick strike score.
Reed now has a receiving touchdown and a rushing touchdown and has 112 total yards. The Packers lead, 19-14.

Another lead change after Barkley's second TD
The Packers force a 3rd and 8 at the Eagles 32, but hurts finds A.J. Brown for 20 yards with McKinney on the coverage.
Three plays later, Hurts and Smith connect on nifty throw-and-catch for 25 yards.
A short throw to Barkley and two carries by Hurts gets the Eagles another first down before Barkley makes a quick cut on the next carry and goes up the middle for 11 yards and another score. The Eagles retake the lead, 14-12 with 5:34 left in the quarter.
Jayden Reed's 33-yard score gives Packers 12-7 advantage
The Packers begin from the 30 and a wide open Dontayvion Wicks drops his second pass of the night on first down.
Running back Emmanuel Wilson gets into the secondary for 14 yards and then continues the series with carries of five and 18 yards to get the ball to the 49. The field conditions aren't less than ideal as players on both teams are slipping often.
The Packers call their final timeout of the half with 10:24 left in the quarter and it proves to be productive as they call Reed's number on a jet sweep and he scampers 33 yards for a touchdown.
The Packers go for 2 points, but Jacobs is denied after going up the middle. The Packers go 70 yards in five plays and lead, 12-7.

Saquon Barkley's touchdown catch gives Eagles 7-6 lead
Four consecutive running plays by the Eagles get the ball to the 17.
The Packers stuff Barkley for a loss on the fifth consecutive rushing set, but Hurts finds Barkley in the corner of the end zone on the next play for an 18-yard score. The Eagles lead, 7-6, after the extra point.

Eagles look more in rhythm
The Eagles begin from the 30-yard line and finally get a first down on a 9-yard pass to A.J. Brown on third down. Davonta Smith then secures consecutive grabs totaling 17 yards to end the quarter, entering Green Bay territory at the 43.
Packers settle for field goal after another flag
Another holding call, this one on Tucker Kraft, immediately backs up the Packers to the Eagles' 23.
A pair of throws to Reed and Doubs get the ball to the 5-yard line before Jacobs loses a yard forcing a 4th and 2. Jacobs barely gets the first down, giving the Packers four chances to score inside the 3-yard line with 3:58 left in the quarter.
Another flag backs the Packers up to the 13 after Doubs is called for pass interference.
Kraft gets the ball back to the five after an 8-yard gain, but a pair of incompletions in the end zone force another short field goal, this one from 23 yards.
The Packers lead, 6-0, with 3:01 left in the quarter.
Jalen Hurts' second turnover gives Packers another scoring chance
The Eagles begin from the 16-yard line and Barkley stays on his feet this time and gains three yards.
On third and 6, Hurts fumbles the snap and Davonte Wyatt recovers the at the 15, giving the Packers another prime chance to score.
Brayden Narveson's field goal gives Packers early 3-0 lead
Love is sacked for a 5-yard loss on the first play by Zack Baun, but an unnecessary roughness flag wipes out the loss and puts the ball at the Eagles' 12.
Two plays later, the Packers are called for holding, moving them back 10 yards and an incompletion on third down forces a 31-yard field goal try for rookie Brayden Narveson. The kick is good and the Packers lead, 3-0
Xavier McKinney's interception gives Packers golden opportunity
Jalen Hurts and the Eagles start their first drive from their own 10-yard line. Saquon Barkley slips and loses five yards on Philadelphia's first play from scrimmage. On 3rd and 15, Packers' safety Xavier McKinney picks off Hurts and returns the ball to the 19, putting Green Bay's offense in business.

Packers touchdown called back due to offsetting penalties
The Packers receive the kickoff and start at the 35 due to an illegal formation flag on the Eagles. Jordan Love completed his first throw to Christian Watson for 5 yards and then found Romeo Doubs for 19 yards, putting the ball at the Eagles' 42.
After two carries by Josh Jacobs totaled 5 yards, Love goes quick and hooks up with Jayden Reed for a 38-yard touchdown, but offsetting penalties wiped out the play.
After an incompletion to Watson, the Packers originally go on fourth down and six yards, but a false start flag forces a punt.
Eagles booed when taking the field
Apparently, NFL fans in São Paulo are aware of the comments of Eagles cornerback Darius Slay, who said on his podcast that he was not looking forward to going to Brazil. Slay later apologized.

The Eagles rushed for 363 yards, with Hurts leading the way with 157 yards on 17 carries. Miles Sanders also torched the Packers defense with 143 yards on 21 carries and two touchdowns. Kenneth Gainwell (39 yards and a touchdown) and Boston Scott (24 yards) also contributed to the total.

The loss dropped the Packers to 4-8.
Love took over and finished 6 of 9 passing for 113 yards and one touchdown. Love showed poise in leading two scoring drives and the performance gave head coach Matt LaFleur and general manager Brian Gutekunst confidence in moving on from Rodgers in the following offseason and turning over the starting job to Love.
